The World Naked Bike Ride witnesses swarms of nude cyclists riding from cities across the globe. But this time it’s not the same.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis St. Louis, London, and San Francisco have called off the ride but it will be preceded in Portland Oregon.
Despite coming together at a specific place and time, this year will see contestants riding it in their preferred localities, date, and time. The World Naked Bike Ride will be remembered from now on as World Naked Bike Ride Day on June 27th.
Further, the show’s organizer Pedalpalooza stated that: “It might take even more courage than usual, but if any city has the creativity to make it fun, it’s Portland.”
Previously the show has 10,000 people participating in several levels of undressing themselves to fight against oil dependency and to give importance to the safety of cycle riders and their bodies.
Though going naked in public is not permitted in Portland, the Naked Bike Ride is allowed as it is a legal protest.
But nothing is clear on the contestants cycling nude around their places.
