The most popular rock band of the ’60s who are still reigning in the music world is “The Rolling Stones.”
The UK band is still touring the world even after decades and they have been inspiring fans that even books have in their name and the recent one is “The Cambridge Companion to the Rolling Stones,” which talks about them both academically and musically.
One of the authors of the book Victor Coelho who works as a music lecturer at Boston University states that it mainly involves the band’s part in the legacy of music.
Adding to this he stated: “There are so many autobiographies by The Stones that give us firsthand accounts, the deep musical knowledge, the long influences that stretch back into the [Mississippi] Delta, into country music, into American vernacular idioms, as well as their presence in film, their huge cultural impact.”
Further, he said “It was time to look back at The Stones’ career as a vital part of music history,” Coelho says. “Not just in popular music history, but in music history itself.”
Victor also said amidst their prolonged career the rock band made sure to find and imply the latest music to their originality.
