Queen Elizabeth II took steps to mend the relationship between Meghan Markle and her father, Thomas Markle. The royal expert Katie Nicholl said the Queen “tried to encourage her to talk to Thomas,” referring to Meghan. The relationship between the Duchess and her father was not a smooth one. The friction between them also led to Meghan walking down the aisle with King Charles, her father-in-law (though he agreed to walk her down the aisle initially). Thomas even expressed regret for not accompanying his daughter down the aisle and holding her hand.
The royal experts also say that the Queen felt it was a mistake on Harry’s part not to travel to Mexico to meet his father-in-law. Sources state that the relationship between Meghan and her father went downhill after the allegation from her side that Thomas leaked a letter she sent. The Queen wanted to mend things between Meghan and her father and also wanted everything to be smooth for Harry and the royals.
The Queen is intelligent enough, which for sure makes her the Queen. The Queen predicted how the relationship between Meghan and her father would deteriorate. Hence, she encouraged sorting all of that out.
