The Creator
All credits go to the man behind the idea of creating the Walk of Fame. He was none other than E. M. Stuart. He served as the volunteer president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in the year 1953.
Cost Of The Star
The real star, made of brass and terrazzo marble, a black and red dotted substance, costs $3,000. A sponsorship fee of $30,000 has to be paid for a star also referred to as the price of fame. Fifty percent of the cost goes to the Hollywood Historic Trust, which takes care of the Walk of Fame. Other costs are incurred in the maintenance of the Walk of Fame and production procedure of the star ceremony.

The main five categories of Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame include Live Theater, Motion Pictures, Radio, Recording, and Television. They are symbolized by the twin comedy/tragedy masks, a camera, a microphone, a record and a TV set respectively.
Who can buy a Hollywood Walk of Fame star?
Around twenty four celebrities are chosen every year by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But, they can only proceed further after obtaining the celebrity’s approval. The nominee has to sign a form mentioning that they would like to have a star, and that they will be present at the event while unveiling the star. However, some celebs try to impress the selection committee by throwing a grand party and by behaving well.
First star on the Walk of Fame
The revolutionary official ceremony for the Hollywood Walk of Fame was held on the day of 20th April in 1960. Joanne Woodward, the Academy Award winner actress, for The Three Faces of Eve (1957) was dedicated the first star on the historic walkway.

Mandy Moore
Amanda Leigh Mandy Moore called the honour, “deeply humbling and weird”. The Actress and singer was one of the celebs who received her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. She was inducted by her co-star, Shane West, in the film, “A Walk To Remember”, and the maker of “This Is Us” , an American drama television series, Dan Fogelman.
Pink
Singer Pink was accompanied by her daughter Willow Sage, son, Jameson Moon and husband Carey Hart while she accepted her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Other celebs that were present to honour the star were Actress Kerri Kenney-Silver and TV personality Ellen DeGeneres.
Taraji P. Henson
The “Empire” star, Taraji P. Henson was another celeb in the row who accepted her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Kelvin Hayden, her fiancé, son Marcell Johnson, Mary J. Blige, the Singer and film director John Singleton, joined her on stage while receiving the star.
Rita Wilson
Inducted by her husband Tom Hanks and friend and fellow actress Julia Roberts, Actress and film producer, Rita Wilson, also received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Cypress Hill
The American hip hop group from South Gate, California created history on Thursday, April 18, when they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It came up just two days before their performance at Vancouver’s annual 4/20 cannabis festival. The entire rap group was present at the moment when Xzibit and comedian George Lopez shared a few words about the renowned crew on stage.
Since they started rapping about their favorite plant, marijuana, the rapper group would probably refer to it as their Hollyweed star. B-Real (Louis Freese) claims that cannabis has been a reason for their prolonged existence. He admits that they are on medication, consuming hygienic food and hitting the gym. B-Real, DJ Muggs and Sen Dog had joined hands with the group more than 30 years ago. This resulted is the production of their debut album named after the weed-loving group in 1991, which gained much critical acclaim. The group had also bagged three Grammy nominations back in the ’90s for “Insane in the Brain,””I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That” and “Throw Your Set in the Air.”
