Gossip girl, the 2000s hit show, is officially giving a comeback, and it is all set to launch on HBO Max with a new generation of rich and famous school teens. In a recent issue of cosmopolitan, the stars share how the show has evolved from the original series.

The gossip girl ran on The CW from 2007 to 2012, and it is one of the famous cult classic teen dramas. Recently, HBO Max introduced the new generation of ‘Gossip Girl’ reboot to their fans. Joshua Safran, exclusive producer and showrunner of gossip girl, says, “It’s something we’ve been talking about—Josh, Stephanie, and I—for a little bit, just in terms of, ‘Is this something we want to explore?’ We’re all so in love with the original and had such an incredible time working on it, and it’s such a big part of our lives.”
The reboot stars take the cover of cosmopolitan, and the interview introduces new cast members and a short description of their characters. The new stars share their view on the old show.
“Part of the fun of watching the old one at the time was, ‘Oh, this is what it’s like to be a very privileged teenager who can act with impunity,’ and living vicariously through that, but with this show, class resentment is a much more explicit part of it, which I’m very in tune with,” says Tavi Gevinson, who plays Kate Keller.
It is said that, unlike the original series, the reboot does not center around the stories of white people, and it will address social media and the landscape of New York. The new gossip girl won’t revolve around the mystery but has a twist. Fans are super excited and curious about this show. The show’s official Twitter account announced that the reboot would be on HBO Max this July.
