Brandon Routh gives out his ways of managing and being an efficient Superman. He puts his word of advice out there for anybody taking up the role next. Routh says, “The most important thing about Superman is that he is a teacher, first and foremost”
After laying the base to get into the character, he says “putting that as a direction, you can’t go wrong. You can’t overreach because then you become dogmatic.”
Being a superhero can give a perspective to the audience, but he emphasizes what the hero supposedly does saying, “It’s understanding that Superman’s role is not just to save the day, It’s to help all humanity find a better path forward.”
Taking up the role and playing it, he talks about the nuances of the character and how he even has to maintain his ways of being the character throughout, “I actually unconsciously tapped into that energy. He has so many quiet moments alone where he’s flying or standing and there has to be something on your face. There was just a lot of internal work that I had done specifically for that role that I think I tapped into with this guy.”
