Long before Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift became friends, Carpenter was a fan of Swift. She tried to meet her idol several times. Carpenter was only 9 when she sang Swift’s “White Horse.” Carpenter was also filmed while singing this favorite song of hers!
Later, Carpenter attempted to participate in a competition so that she could meet Swift there. But unfortunately, Carpenter was told that she was not eligible to join the contest since she was “too young.”
Finally, in 2017, Carpenter acquired the chance to meet her idol in person. After she succeeded in what seemed like her life’s mission, she stated that Swift was present, along with her cats, on backstage.
Gradually, the duo became friends, and in 2021, Swift sent her friend, a “Red (Taylor’s Version)” package, even before the album got released! And, at the 2022 VMA, Swift and Carpenter posed together at the after-party. Again, in November 2022, the two friends were seen posing together at the American Music Awards.
The friendship between Swift and Carpenter blossomed over the years until the duo became thick friends. They continued to meet, hang out, and go on tours.
In 2024, Carpenter joined her friend on her Eras Tour. When they visited Syndney, the friends got the opportunity to sing a mashup of “Coney Island” and “White Horse,” which Carpenter sang first when she was just 9 years old!
In August 2024, Carpenter told Variety that Swift was her “best friend.” Thus, trust and friendship between the two girls increased over time, and Swift, who was once Carpenter’s idol, has now become a thick friend of hers!
