Further, it was the most viewed in ‘On Spotify’ with 80.6 million times setting a niche for debut day album streaming especially for a female star. Meanwhile, it was the highest-viewed in Apple Music with 35.47 million.
The 8th new album of Taylor was released on Thursday late night giving an unexpected surprise to her followers along with the video song for “Cardigan.” Amid her association with the indie-folk group, Bon Iver was seen alongside in the song “exile.”
Taylor posted her dream for the album and wrote: “It started with imagery. Visuals that popped into my mind and piqued my curiosity. Stars drawn around scars. A cardigan that still bears the scent of loss twenty years later. Battleships sinking into the ocean, down, down, down. The tree swing in the woods of my childhood.”
She also added that the pictures inside her head “grew faces or names and became characters” in the writing process. “I found myself not only writing my own stories but also writing about or from the perspective of people I’ve never met people I’ve known or those I wish I hadn’t.”
Swift also said in her alone time her imagination had “run wild” and this new album is the consequence “a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness.”
