Fans’ current favorite, the book-based series The Handmaid’s Tale, remains a huge hit for Hulu. Reportedly, The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 ranks as the most-watched original debut ever since its launch last week on April 28.
According to Samba’s data, 1 Million US households tuned into The handmaid’s Tale Season 4 in the first week. Surprisingly the season 3 drew 109K US households during the running period, Samba reported.
Season 4 made it on-screen after a 21-month wait. The new season of Bruce Miller’s dystopian drama was scheduled to drop in the fall of 2020. Due to the pandemic, production decided to delay the release.
According to Deadline, Handmaid’s Tale season 4 premiere episodes remain the most-watched original ever on Hulu.
Bruce told IndieWire.com why he wanted to make season 4 shorter but “100% creative.”
“Some storylines just seem to shake out as a 10-episode story, in my eyes,” he revealed. “It gives us a little more freedom because you can rely more on one propulsive element.” If we talk about the cast of the series, the show features the regulars.
Hulu’s Emmy-winning Margaret Atwood adaptation is based on a story of life in the totalitarian society of Gilead, which was previously the United States. The main character Offred/June(AKA Elizabeth Moss), is struggling to survive.
Season 4 is centered on how June fights against Gilead as a fierce rebel leader. She faces more difficulties because of taking the rebel path. She encounters dangerous challenges. Her quest for justice may drift apart her beloved relationships.
It is anticipated that the fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale will drop in upcoming years as production renewed for a new season last December. Let’s look forward to more from the show.
