Marcello Mastroianni a great actor from Italy is best known for his films in the 60’s. A ravishing hero who’s performance was lauded by fans and was renowned internationally around Europe.
Marcello pursued his studies at the University of Rome post World War II. He started acting in stage plays which were organized by the university and he went on to be a part of the country’s prominent theatre group in 1948.
He later went to make his first appearance in movies in 1947 and he created a niche for himself within a short time. By the mid of the 1950s, he was a top-notch actor.
His movie Le Notti Bianche 1957 was highly appreciated and he was boarded for the film La Dolce Vita in 1960 helmed by Federico Fellini. The movie went on to win several awards and made Marcello get recognized worldwide.
Besides, he kept giving blockbusters after this with movies like La notte (1960), Divorzio all’italiana (1961), Otto e mezzo (1963; 8 ½) an Oscar-winning movie helmed by Fellini.
His other films include Ieri, oggi, domani (1964), Matrimonio all’italiana (1964) which had Sophia Loren alongside. He also acted with Sophia in a few more movies like Girasoli (1969), La Mogile Del Prete (1970), Una Giornata Speciale (1977). Marcello kept acting till his last breath and had acted over 120 films in his career.
