Nicolas Cage is the stage name of Nicolas Kim Coppola. Many would know the Coppola family as the highly popular Italian-American family of artists and moviemakers. So, Nicolas naturally acquired his talent for acting at a very young age. He did his schooling at Beverly Hills High School. Nicolas is one of the nephews of the great director, Francis Ford Coppola.
Nicolas Cage did some movie roles early on, but his big break happened when he starred in the 1983 movie, “Valley Girl.” The movie became what we call a “modest box office success.” It is also named one of those “cult classics.” Nicolas continued to act in movies, such as “Rumble Fish” and “Racing with the Moon.” For one of his roles, Nicolas lost a lot of weight and even had a couple of his teeth pulled out! Nicolas had the breakthrough of his life when he acted in the film, “Moonstruck,” a romantic comedy in which he has acted with Cher, the American singer and actress.
Nicolas Cage went on to perform in some movies that were “flops” at the box office. Nevertheless, the actor persisted and persevered in his efforts. He was cast in the movie, “It Could Happen to You,” alongside Bridget Fonda. “Leaving Las Vegas” was one of the films that got him lots of credit. Nobody can forget John Woo’s “Face/Off,” where he plays both the hero and the villain. “Gone in 60 Seconds” had the actor starring as a retired car thief. He also made his directorial debut in “Sonny” in which he made a cameo appearance.
The American actor did many other movies, including, “National Treasure” and “Ghost Rider.” Over the years, he developed his own style of acting through which he has won millions of hearts. As far as his personal life is concerned, Nicolas Cage has been married five times.
