Todd Phillips, 51, the director of the most anticipated sequel movie of the year Joker shared a snap of actor Joaquin Phoenix on social media. The volatile actor is coming back as the legendary antagonist character in the movie.
Philips took to Instagram to share the photo of a close-up of Phoenix, who seems to be getting a shave from a worker from Arkham Asylum. He captioned the post showcasing the first look, “Day 1. Our boy. #joker.”
Joker: Folie à Deux film is going to hit on theatres on October 4, 2024. The plot of the sequel is unknown. Lady Gaga is joker’s love interest, portraying the iconic character of Harley Quinn. The sequel is a musical creation. Joaquin Phoenix, 48, is playing the character of Arthur Fleck who gradually turns to be the notorious villain against batman and the people.
It is actually five years since the first film got released. The Joker movie got into theatres in the year 2019. The blockbuster number earned Phoenix an Oscar, adding a star to his acting profile.
Joker made a notable gross of over $1 billion at the world’s box office. The film got nominated for 11 Academy Awards at the 92nd Annual Academy Awards, and Phoenix won the Best Actor award.
Phoenix once shared his view on joker, “I mean, I dunno. From when we were shooting, we started to — you know, uhh, this is an interesting guy, there are some things we could do with this guy and could explore further. But as to whether we actually will? I don’t know.”
