The world is no stranger to mysteries, yet it has never found a way to solve those. From rumored treasures to strange disappearances, humans have solved some, but that would sum up being the tip of the iceberg. There are several unsolved cases wrapped under the blanket of mystery.
Nothing is more fascinating and mysterious than a disappearance case. Over the years, several famous personalities have just vanished, with or without a trace. Some were found, but some… well, that remains a mystery. Some of the famous personalities who disappeared and were never found are:
Prince Edward V was the eldest son of King Edward IV and Queen Woodville. Upon the king’s death, the prince’s uncles questioned the legitimacy of the late monarch’s marriage to the queen. As the situation escalated, Prince Edward V and his brother Prince Richard were locked in the Tower of London. There are rumors that the Princes were murdered by King Richard III.
The son of the famed 41st Vice President, Nelson Rockefeller, Michael Rockefeller went missing in November 1961, during his travel to see the native Asmat tribes. Even after two weeks of searching, the young Rockefeller, or his body was not found, with the official cause of death noted as drowning. But the conspiracy theories never stopped, with people guessing he was eaten by sharks or even killed by the Asmat tribes. The tribes were cannibals and tend to provide sacrifices for rituals.
Basketball star Bison Dele was a center for teams like Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Detroit Pistons. Dele disappeared along with his girlfriend, his brother, and his skipper on a boat trip to Tahiti but never returned. His brother returned, alone, and from the bullet holes in the boat, the police suspected he shot Dele and the others and threw them overboard. But Dele’s body was never found.
Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt was one of the prime personalities to vanish. The former Prime Minister disappeared while swimming at Cheviot Beach in 1967. Unfortunately, the search party was unable to recover his body. With the case closed as an accidental drowning, conspiracy theories, on the other hand, shot out several guesses with one even saying he was taken by a Chinese submarine.
