It’s bad news for travelers! United Airlines will longer continue its service to many US airports including Missouri because of limited resources and staff during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The airline will drop 11 routes to small cities around hubs such as Houston, Denver, and Chicago, according to Business Insider.

Columbia Regional Airport is recognized as one of the airports where United Airlines will completely stop its service from January 4, 2022. At present, it offers two daily outbound flights from Columbia, Missouri to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.

United Airlines began its service at Columbia Regional Airport in August 2017. Columbia city manager John Glascock mentioned in a statement, “Columbia Regional Airport and the City of Columbia will continue to create an environment where American Airlines can thrive to ensure it is successful in the region.” “COU provides the entire mid-Missouri region a way to connect with the rest of the world. We will continue to work with our partners to ensure our customers have a positive and convenient travel experience they would not be able to replicate at other locations.”
