Apparently, a scheduled passenger flight from Newark International Airport to Hongkong International Airport had an emergency landing in Newfoundland, Canada on Jan 20. The reason being a medical situation with one of the passengers who needed immediate hospitalization, the diversion in direction remained unavoidable.
When it was very thoughtful of the airlines doing the needful for the sick passenger, the rest of them on board had to suffer a 16-hour delay at the Goose Bay Airport because of the lack of ground staff to make the necessary arrangements. After what seemed like being trapped inside the plane for an annoyingly long duration, the ones on the flight were extremely frustrated with the unprofessional behavior of prisoning them within closed doors. A simple gesture from the concerned authorities could have ultimately saved a whole lot of time and annoyance.
