Did you know? A US nuclear submarine was damaged after hitting an unidentified object while operating underwater in Asia. More than a dozen of US sailors have been injured after the USS Connecticut collided with an “unknown object” around the south china sea. It has been found that around fifteen sailors had minor injuries during the nuclear submarine collision.
Even US officials are unaware of the reason behind the collision. This incident has caused tension between the US and China, which soared over the Chinese military incursions into Taiwan’s Air Defense Integration Zone (ADIZ). The navy said that
“The USS Connecticut is a nuclear powered fast attack submarine that struck an object while submerged on the afternoon of Oct 2, 2021, while operating in international waters in the Indo- Pacific region.” The spokesman also added that “The USS Connecticut’s nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not affected and remain fully operational.”
The navy exclaimed that the submarine remains in a safe condition and extent of the damage is being examined and the reason behind the accident is under investigation. They also said that the USS Connecticut’s nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not damaged and they remain to be fully operational.
“The submarine remains in a safe and stable condition. USS Connecticut’s nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not affected and remain fully operational,” it said.
