Before the Iranian government launched missiles on Iraqi bases withholding US troops, President Trump warned Iran that ‘America will strike back’.
After the killing of General Qassem Soleimani on Friday, Trump has taunted and poked the Iranians through dozens of twitter posts. He has mentioned the General as ‘a monster’ and this angered the Iranians.
Right after the Iran missile strikes, President Trump tweeted, ‘All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well-equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning.’— Taunting the Iranians.
In most of the statements, Trump has talked about striking back if Iran poses to strike the US. And a few hours after the recent attacks, US Defence Secretary Mark Esper told the reporters,’ The United States does not seek conflict, but will respond forcefully if necessary.’
But for now, Iran says they are through with marching towards war and that they would only respond if the US decided to take a step.
‘If President Trump chooses to take up the offer, and decides to stop only with the death of General Soleimani- he would tout it as a victory on the campaign trail’, according to the ABC news.
