Yara, the activist launched EighteenX18 an initiative to help the youth vote. She wants to kick-start her legal age by voting and contributing to the welfare of her country. It was described as a tool that is designed to guide the current generation of voters to take action by discussing and understanding issues that impact them.
When asked about her motivation for this thoughtful initiative she said, ‘My passion really stemmed from having gone through the 2016 election, where myself and many of my peers were unable to vote. A lot of them went with their parents to the polls, but there was that feeling of being lost. Like, ‘What can we do to contribute to our sociopolitical landscape?’.
